April Boyett
April Boyett, Soprano, was recently featured in the Livestock Players production of West Side Story as both a dancer and the "Somewhere Soloist". In January 2009, April performed the role of Suor Zelatrice in the OperaOggiNY production of Suor Angelica in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In the fall of 2008, April was a Studio Artist with Sarasota Opera covering the role of Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, while also singing concerts around the Sarasota area. During the summer of 2008, April performed with the Des Moines Metro Opera as an Apprentice Artist. While in Des Moines she was featured in scenes from La Traviata and Thais. In the spring of 2008, April was selected to be an Apprentice Artist with the Sarasota Opera where she covered the role of Yvette in La Rondine.
April graduated with a Masters of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Ashley Putnam. While at Manhattan School of Music, April was seen as Madame Lidoine in the Muraco/Vaughn Workshop production of The Dialogues of the Carmelites, as well as the outreach opera productions of If the Shoe Fits and Hare Today, Gone Tomorrow written and directed by Dona D. Vaughn. In 2003, April was chosen to participate in the Renata Scotto Opera Academy in White Plains, NY. April graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2002, where she received a Bachelors of Music degree in Vocal Performance.
